We have been going to this campground for years, we have always enjoyed it until now. This year the group we camp with every Canada Day weekend have decided not to return after 24 consecutive years. The previous owners Larry & Mary Simpson went out of thier way to make sure everyones stay was a good one. The new owners (Parkbridge) along with the management are only interested in the allmighty dollar and could care less about the individual. Our son came upSaturday to enjoy an evening with us. He was charged to get in and didn't argue it. I went back to the gate house with him to get his money back since it states on the receipt that Camping rates are for one family (mother, father, and unmarried dependent children 18 years & under). Guess what he is 18 and lives at home so I felt he fit within thier criteria ...... well not according to them? We offered for them to see his I.D. but they said the only thing they would accept is a student I.D. We tried to explain that it was now summer and he didn't need to carry student I.D. but were told "too bad" by the manager. Many of the group were also having problems with management as well. I thought that they were likely like most of these corporately owned campgrounds just trying to get rid of the overnite campers but also talked to several seasonal campers who stated that they get the same treatment and were looking to move out as well.
Another item that really made me mad was that the park managers watched on radar in advance a severe storm coming our way on July 2nd which spawned several funnel clouds in the immediate area and made absolutely no attempt to warn the campers!
