Pinery

Postby portliz » Thu Oct 21, 2010 9:25 am

Just returned from 4 days in the Pinery. Weather was great - cool but sunshine all 4 days. We saw good weather and decided Saturday to head up. Only about 10 sites left in Riverside so we were concerned about how crowded it might be. Even though it was busy we were pleasantly surprised about how quiet it was and how we felt we still had privacy at our site. We usually avoid the Pinery when it is busy. People were starting to arrive for the Halloween weekend. Pumpkins carved and lights and decorations up. Looks like a great time - something we will have to try. I guess you would need to bring a boat load of candy for those trick or treaters!

Pinery is IMVHO strictly an "off season" park. YMMV ;)

Glad you had a good time!

We were there too from Oct. 15 to 19 for our anniversary. We probably passed by your site everyday when we were walking the dogs, 2 huskies and 1 german shepherd. We like hiking along the riverside.

Did you see the flooding the beavers caused? Many trees were under water.

Born to camp - sorry we missed you. I do remember seeing you at least once. We walked with our dog - Sassy - small german shepherd, lab. I was looking for a 4scf sign on any trailers - but no luck. The weather was beautiful and we did have a great time. How do you post pictures on this site???

Use the "Img" tag OR just put up a link to where the images are posted.
